What is the United Way? United Way is a nonprofit organization that works with a range of charitable organizations to pool efforts in fundraising and support. Its focus is to identify and resolve pressing community issues as well as make measurable change in communities through partnerships with health and human service agencies, schools, government agencies, businesses and more. United Way seeks to address the root causes of key issues and is accountable for stewardship of resources and short- and long-term results.

How is United Way governed? Each United Way is governed by a local volunteer board of directors. The board participates in all decision making, ensuring the organization is representative of the community, its needs and the goals of its citizens.

What does United Way do? United Way works to advance the common good by creating opportunities for a better life for all.
